Module 1: Introduction


With the aid of the example of NCL, a neuro generative metabolic disease, the rules of genetics are explained clearly in Biology and Genetics class.



  1. What are the principles of genetics?
  2. How do mutations influence the genetic make-up?
  3. Which attributes are displayed in an autosomal recessive hereditary transmission?
  4. What are the steps involved in protein biosynthesis?
  5. Why is it so difficult to establish a therapy for rare diseases?      ·        


 This and more content will be covered and/or revised and solidified in the hourly introduction of the Learning Partnership. Pupils also get a look into the work of the organisation and are provided with materials, which contain additional interesting facts. The lesson (generally a double period) is held at your school by one of the foundation´s project workers in the area of “Research and Education”.
