Hamburger Stifterpreis 2012

At the presentation of the Hamburgischer Stifterpreis 2012 the NCL Foundation celebrated 2nd place and a prize fund of 3,000 Euros. After the first round the foundation was already in the Top 5 and convinced the judges with an outstanding presentation by the founder Dr. Frank Husemann and Research Manager Dr. Frank Stehr in the final round. There were around 60 submissions were received from for the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the Gesellschaft Harmonie von 1789. This was the fourth time that the prize was awarded to honour and promote distinctive civil engagement by foundations in Hamburg. The prize money is used in current research and education projects if the NCL foundation in order to get one step further to developing a first treatment by 2020. 

In 2010 the NCL Foundation was one of the top three finalists.

Nominated for the Springer Medizin Charity Award 2011
The NCL Foundation was chosen as one of ten finalists from 66 competitors for the Springer Medizin Charity Award. The award honours foundations and organisations who display exceptional social engagement. The prize is a Springer Medicine and Media Package worth 100,000 EurosThe award went to the Berlin doctor Dr Jenny de la Torre. Born in Peru, the doctor was awarded the prize for her sixteen year work for homeless people in the centre of Berlin


Frank Husemann – Hamburg Citizen of the Year 2006 for SocialEngagement 
Hamburg recognises citizens of the town who have made an exceptional contribution each year. The prize is awarded in the following categories: Lifework, Economy, Fairness and Courage, Social Engagement, Culture and Sport. 
Dr. Frank Husemann received the prize in the category ‘Social Engagement’ for the NCL Foundation in honour of his commitment to children and families affected by this rare disease.

 The foundation is honoured to receive this award and offers its thanks to the jury!
